[Artist Statement]
Centered around the character "IGU," created from the blockchain in virtual space, the work has been translated into various physical forms, including paintings, sculptures, and animations.
IGU has a storyline, and other characters from that story will also appear in the work.
The theme of this exhibition is "PIECE."
He collects fragments carved into walls and public spaces hidden throughout the city, reevaluating the aesthetic value of the stories behind the city and the deterioration that has occurred over time as wabi-sabi, and expresses them as pieces of art.
In this exhibition, we also attempted to create a new dimension by going beyond the boundaries between digital and analog.
Using digital units such as pixels and layers, the work is a visual piece created by stacking multiple pieces together to create a sense of weight and depth.
One piece, one photo, one second...
We put our hope into the word "PIECE" that everything will become part of art and that it will be an opportunity to discover hidden beauty in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city.
