Isshin Tanizaki
light and shade
2022.11.11(Fri) - 12.12(Mon)
The first and second floors of the Roof Museum will host a new exhibition of works by artist Tanizaki Isshin entitled "Time."
Koin means not only time but also light and shadow. Tanizaki expresses a world shaped by light and shadow through the motif of landscapes.
Light and shadow are important elements in the creation of the world, as described in the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament. Tanizaki traces the context of Genesis in his paintings, showing the relationship between light and shadow, and on top of that, he suggests the possibilities of our world.
This exhibition will feature 20 works, ranging from early works to the latest.
