We are pleased to announce the holding of "Vortex, Memory of Color," an exhibition of new works by artist Tanizaki Isshin, at Dansk Mobelkunst Gallery in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.
Dansk Mobelkunst Gallery is a gallery dealing in Danish furniture, founded by Ole Hostbo in 1992. It deals in rare and original pieces of Danish furniture produced between 1920 and 1970, when artisans, architects and designers blurred the distinction between works of art and furnishings for everyday life.
This special exhibition was brought to life by Ole Tanizaki of Dansk Mobelkunst Gallery. It showcases works from the Vortex series, inspired by the colors, light, and memories Tanizaki saw during his visit to Denmark. The exhibition will run from June 14th (Friday) to July 15th (Monday), 2024.
In addition, original T-shirts created to commemorate the exhibition will be on sale at Lurf Museum stores and on its website.

statement
Our world can be said to be shaped by color. According to Goethe, color is generated by the collaboration of the human eye and natural light. When we think about this, we are forced to refocus our attention on the senses of the eye and the human memory that controls these senses.
The daily activities of people in the everyday world and the spiritual world. Various memories of people have been accumulated in each world for a long time. When these are gathered into the simple thought of prayer, a symbol may be born.
In Denmark, I visited an old apartment complex and Grundtvig's Church in the Nyböder district. At the apartment complex, I felt a mysterious sensation from the orange color of the walls. For a long time, many people have looked at the same wall color and thought about all sorts of things. It conveyed a sense of harvest to me. At Grundtvig's Church, the tranquility evoked by its white bricks gave me a sublime feeling and calmed my mind. I wanted to synchronize these sensations with the memories of people from long ago by using orange and white vortex painting. In order to achieve a more universal feeling.
