statement

with gratitude

COVID-19 has dramatically changed the values we took for granted,
His own artistic activities were also increasingly restricted, and he spent his days feeling a sense of disappointment and sadness.
Even in such difficult times, I have a loving family, and while spending irreplaceable time with them,
I realized the happiness of having a loving family, something I had taken for granted.
Rather than lamenting what you have lost, it is important to "focus on the happiness you have now and be grateful."
I think that's the reason why I can live positively.
By expressing this gratitude as a single flower and giving a bouquet of gratitude through my work,
I created this piece in the hope that it would make the recipient feel positive and cheerful.

profile

Yuta Okuda (1987, Japan)

I create works based on the theme of "circulation."
The coronavirus outbreak has made me realize that the things I take for granted in my daily life are actually special events, and I feel grateful for those things. With the desire to express this feeling in my artwork, I have created "flowers" that convey gratitude to the viewer, under the theme "with gratitude."
He uses a unique painting technique that transforms "chance" into "inevitability" by outlining the accidental parts mixed with acrylic paint with a very fine pen.
He currently continues to actively exhibit his works both domestically and internationally, through solo exhibitions and art fairs.
